I recently borrowed an awesome art book from the library showing the human anatomy. This and surrealism are my favorite things to actually draw or sketch out in my free time. This sketch is out of proportion in the arm lengths along with the size of the head. I really didn't care though because I had a lot of fun drawing the complex muscles of the larynx and tried to have half the body showing the complex muscles of the chest and neck and then the other side showing how the bones are connected at joints and such. I originally wanted to have the fingers of the hand be only veins but I didn't like the way they kept turning out.

This is a finished piece because I really don't want to take the chance of ruining it, I feel its pretty good as is. I notice most of my pictures (well sketches that I do) are surreal. I got this idea from Brett when I was examining his hand and I commented on our matching calluses. He says, "no that's a wart. I like to imagine that since it's been there so long the roots of the wart (cuz you know warts have roots) are intertwined around my bones". I thought that was actually a really cool idea and imagined trees growing from it. I'm not  a fan of how I drew Brett I'll admit but none the less I really like this piece even if i do HATE drawing trees >:P too time consuming who expects me to draw all ten thous

I'm in love with this picture I did =). I've actually been working on this picture for quite some time and just now got around to finishing it. It's definitely surreal and that is my little niece midori.  No the venus fly trap is not suppose to eat her face. I'm afraid though that the egg in the venus fly trap is not well done. It's a completed sketch but I hope to paint this on a canvas acrylic.

I suppose some people might think this is not a sketch at all but in my opinion it is so i guess that works. Its definitely completed and I got this idea from my band, The Paper Moths I just thought it be a cool album cover or something for us. I did origami and then colored it in and set it up as if I'd framed the moth.

One of my sketches.  It's pretty simple and just an idea from life that I saw. I don't really feel like I need to go any further with this sketch because to me it was just a fun excercise in drawing correct proportions, shadowing, and a person from behind.
